Candice & Jordon // Brisbane Wedding Photographer

This post is going to be very image heavy, because it was so hard to choose with so many favourites, and those shoes – my oh my I love!  x

A few words from our bride;

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?

The first wedding item that I chose was my dress. To be honest, I had no idea what I wanted in a dress so I tried on a few different styles before falling in love with the one I wore. Once I had the dress, I used that style as inspiration for the rest of the wedding. So vintage inspiration plus a few quirky additions gave us the wedding we wanted.

What was your favourite moment or part of the day?

My favourite moment was when I stopped in front of Jordon. I was convinced that I was going to cry during the ceremony as I hadn’t been able to say my vows without my eyes welling up in the weeks leading up to the day. But when I stopped in front of Jordon and saw him smiling back at me I had the thought that I was just too happy in that very moment that it would be impossible for me to cry.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?

No, not really.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?

The best advice I had received was to just live every moment of the day. Try not to spend your time “looking forward” to this part or that part. Yes, there will be the big highlights of the day but that is no reason to miss all the small things that can really bring you joy. Instead, just think about how wonderful is it to sit and have breakfast with your beautiful bridesmaids and how lovely it feels to have your make-up done, etc.

What advice do you have for other brides?

There are so many things I could say here! I guess the most important tip I could give would be to really consider what would make the day more enjoyable (read, less stressful!) for you. For example, schedule plenty of time to do things. Also, consider having photos with your husband to be before the ceremony (just don’t tell the traditionalists). It was during this time that we got some of my favourite photos of the day and it took the pressure off that period between the ceremony and reception. Also, we got to ease each others nerves and it drew our focus back to the entire point of the day, embracing our love for each other, instead of stressing about less important things like hair or cars and such.

she is a seductive temptress;

a land where volcanos peak through foggy clouds

where the air is sultry

and fragrant spices linger

a land where culture and tradition are preserved

with warm smiles at its’ own pace

it fills your heart with love

and lends itself to adventure as beautiful as its’ seas

moments of the heart…

This session happened a few weeks ago now, but even now as I put this post together I can still remember the feeling during and after the session.  The buzz. The effervescent beauty and joy of innocence of youth. The goal then shifting to creating something tangible. A product filled with enough story for anyone to feel as I did. Enjoy ~ in their story.  x
